We want you to be able to check every claim on this site. This page explains exactly where our numbers come from and how we turn them into recommendations.
Where the data comes from
- Prices and plan sizes come from each provider’s official website or app store listing.
- Coverage lists come from the provider’s published country list for that plan.
- Terms such as fair-use limits, hotspot rules and validity come from the provider’s help centre or terms of service.
Each comparison table shows the date we last checked the data. If a figure could not be confirmed on an official page, we leave it out or mark it clearly.
How we compare plans
- Price per GB. We divide the plan price by its data allowance. This is the fairest way to compare plans of different sizes.
- Validity. A cheap plan that expires after 7 days is no use on a three-week trip.
- Coverage. We check whether the plan includes the UK, Switzerland and non-EU countries such as Turkey, Serbia or Albania, because many “Europe” plans don’t.
- Practical terms. Hotspot sharing, a phone number for calls and SMS, top-up options and refund rules.
What we don’t do
- We don’t invent test results. When we have tested a plan on our own trips, we say so and show the results. Otherwise we tell you that the information comes from the provider.
- We don’t accept payment for rankings.
- We don’t hide providers that don’t pay us a commission.
Updates and corrections
We re-check comparison data regularly and update the “last checked” date. If you find an error, please contact us.
